Thousands evacuated, flights cancelled as Taiwan girds for Typhoon Haikui

[Collection]Taiwan has cancelled domestic flights and evacuated almost 3,000 people as it prepares for the arrival of Typhoon Haikui. The typhoon is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the island's south and east. Haikui is forecast to make landfall in the southeast of Taiwan and is expected to be a Category 1 or 2 typhoon. Taiwan's government has already evacuated 2,868 people from settlements in the affected areas
