Climate activists smash glass protecting Velazquez's Venus painting in London's National Gallery

[Collection]Climate change activists from the group Just Stop Oil smashed the protective glass panel covering a famous Diego Velazquez oil painting at London's National Gallery. The painting, known as "The Toilet of Venus" or "The Rokeby Venus," was targeted as a demand for the immediate halt of fossil fuel exploration in the UK. The activists chose this painting because it was previously slashed during the suffragette movement. Two people were arrested, and the painting has been removed for examination.
