EU moves closer to imposing a new set of sanctions on Russia for its war on Ukraine

The proposal will now be discussed among the 27 member states in order to reach a unanimous decision. Talks have focused on imposing export restrictions on Russia's diamond industry. The proposal comes after a visit by Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to the EU Commission.
