Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel would consider temporary halts in the fighting in Gaza to allow humanitarian aid to enter or to permit the release of hostages held by Hamas militants. However, Netanyahu maintained that Israel would not agree to a ceasefire unless all individuals held captive in the Hamas-controlled Palestinian territory were released.
