Paris to near-double metro ticket price during Olympics

[Collection]Metro tickets for the Paris Olympics next year will almost double in price, with single tickets costing four euros and 10-ticket blocks priced at 32 euros. The regional transport authority, headed by Valerie Pecresse, announced the price increase to help cover the cost of running urban transport during the Games. However, residents with annual and monthly travel passes will not be affected by the price rises. The surcharge will be effective from July 20 to September 8.
