US 'concerned' about reports on Israel using white phosphorus in Lebanon attack

[Collection]US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, expressed concern about reports that Israel used US-supplied white phosphorus munitions in a southern Lebanon attack in October. Kirby said that the US provides white phosphorus to militaries hoping it will be used lawfully. A report states that the attack injured at least 9 civilians and should be probe as a war crime. The IDF, however, said their smoke shells do not contain white phosphorus.
