China and Russia will continue to uphold position of non-confrontation: Xi Jinping

[Collection]Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday hailed ties with Russia as "conducive to peace" and pledged to strengthen cooperation as he hosted Vladimir Putin in Beijing. In a meeting, Xi then told his "old friend" Putin that "China-Russia relations (are) not only in the fundamental interests of the two countries... but also conducive to peace," according to a readout from Beijing's foreign ministry.
