Canadian couple donate 187-acre Ontario island sanctuary after protecting its wildlife for 36 years

{}Jim and Anne Purvis bought 187.4 acres on Ontario’s Wilson Island in 1989 and spent 36 years protecting the land as a family sanctuary. They have now donated the property to the Northumberland Land Trust, ensuring its forests, wetlands, grasslands and habitats for species at risk remain protected as a permanent nature reserve.
