The United Nations and Syria have reached an agreement to reopen the Bab al-Hawa crossing between Turkey and northwest Syria for six months, after the UN Security Council failed to adopt a resolution to authorise further deliveries through the border crossing on July 11. The crossing is used for 85% of deliveries to the northwest Idlib region, home to about 4.1 million people, who rely heavily on aid.
